Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday said it now seems pointless to explain to President Rodrigo Duterte after he insisted that she participated in rallies against him.
Robredo said it saddened her that Duterte has chosen to believe false reports, adding that the matter was easy to verify.

"Ako, kahit very vocal ako sa pag-oppose, sinadya kong 'di sumali sa mga rally in deference to the President, dahil miyembro ako ng Gabinete. Pero kung ang report sa kaniya ay ganoon, nakakalungkot na pinaniwalaan niya dahil alam ng marami na hindi 'yon totoo," she said in an interview in Ocampo, Camarines Sur, where she began her week-long visit to areas affected by Typhoon Nina.

Medyo nakakalungkot 'yon, pero again, tapos na 'yon," she went on.

The Vice President, who stepped down as Housing chair last Dec. 5, noted that a Cabinet post is a "position of confidence."

"Kailangang buo ang tiwala sa akin ng Pangulo, pero kung ganoon ang kasinungalingan na pinaniniwalaan, gustong sabihin na iyong tiwala sa akin napakababa, so wala na ring point," she said.

She underscored her willingness to help the administration in her own capacity, but added that she wouldn't force her way back into the Cabinet, where she sat as Housing chief for five months.

Robredo earlier said she tried to reach out to the President—through his special assistant Bong Go and Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco—seeking clarification when she was asked to "desist from attending all Cabinet meetings."

The directive led to her resignation as Housing chair.
In a series of one-on-one interviews last week, Duterte repeatedly said that Robredo's supposed participation in rallies calling for his ouster prompted him to exclude her from his Cabinet.

The President said there was a seeming "incongruity" between that and her stay in his Cabinet.
While on a family trip in the United States, Robredo issued a statement reiterating that she never participated in any rally against Duterte or his actions, notably those against the burial of the late Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

She also again denied any involvement or knowledge about alleged ouster plots against the President.

VP LENI ROBREDO COMPLAINS ON HER VISIT IN BICOL, BLAMES SLOW RELIEF OPERATION

Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday noted that relief response seems to take long to reach some areas hit by Typhoon Nina.
A day after returning from a family trip in the United States, Robredo began a week-long visit to Bicol region in Camarines Sur, her home province. On Tuesday, she went to the towns of Ocampo and Pili, part of the district she represented in Congress.

Asked for her observations, Robredo noted that assistance seemed slow, adding that some areas have received only relief from her office, which has sent help to at least 10,000 families in 145 barangays in the province.

"Sa tingin ko medyo mabagal, mabagal iyong galaw," she said during an interview in Ocampo.

In Ocampo, she noted that electric posts are still down on major roads, and that it was a bit "unusual" that only less than half of the power supply has been brought back—a matter she sought to disuss with the electric cooperative later that day.

She also said residents of Ocampo need assistance for shelter and agriculture, a matter she said she hopes to help bring before national government agencies.

'Sustainable'

Robredo, who was criticized for being in the US when Nina hit the region, said her week-long visit in Bicol is meant to assess needs to help find "sustainable" assistance for those affected.
She said she hopes to make up for her absence during the onslaught of the typhoon.

Pero making the best out of the situation, hindi na mababalik, pero bumabawi tayo. Asikasuhin... iyong buong staff naman natin, noong wala ako, talaga namang, walang napabayaan," Robredo said.

She also noted that they are shifting from relief operations to rehabilitation, eyeing sturdier housing for residents.

Hindi iyong bawat sakuna sila din ang nasisiraan ng bahay," said Robredo, former chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).

She said she also intends to visit schools that were once more damaged by the typhoon.

Latest data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) showed that damage to both agriculture and infrastructure in the Philippines has so far reached P5.183 billion.

Broken down, damage to agriculture was recorded at P4.130 billion, while damage to infrastructure—roads, bridges, river control, health, and school facilities—was at P1.053 billion.

Pres.

BISHOP VILLEGAS TO Pres. DUTERTE: "HINDI KA BAYANI! MAMAMATAY TAO KA!.."

“If the law for the reimposition of death penalty will be approved by Congress, the President of the Philippines will kill people, mostly indigents who cannot afford to pay lawyers in their judicial fight specially those accused in drug pushing and other crimes,”

EXPOSED! SASS SASOT UNRAVELS THE MYSTERY OF VP LENI ROBREDO's CHRISTMAS FAMILY REUNION IN THE U.S.

In a series of Facebook post, popular social media personality Sass Rogando Sasot unravels the mystery of the alleged Christmas Family Reunion of Vice President Leni Robredo in the United States.

The self-confessed political strategist Sasot revealed some of the facts about the Vice President's vacation, prioritizing her family instead of the sufferings of her fellow kababayans in Bicol who was hit by Bagyong Nina.

According to Sass Rogando Sasot, she could not believe that there's a family reunion between the Robredo family that they claimed have been prepared one year earlier. Sass noted that not even a single photo on Twitter proved that VP Leni attended the reunion.

Here's the first statement of Sass Rogando Sasot on Facebook:

Naloloka ako sa "family reunion" na ito ni Leni na pinaghandaan ng one year in advance, at hindi pwedeng i-cancel. Pero wala kahit isang picture sa twitter? Or kahit isang tweet about it?

Ganoon sila ka-excited sa "family reunion" na iyan, may news blackout?

The political analyst who is considered as one of the most vocal supporter of Pres. Rody Duterte also discovered that how come there's no photo of the reunion because during the inauguration of the Vice President all of her brothers, nieces and cousins and even her mother attended the event. Sass Rogando Sasot also noted on her Facebook post that she want to know something about the people who attended the family reunion of VP Leni Robredo because her brother spent Christmas in Calgary, Canada and even posted a photo as evidence that one of VP Robredo's brother was not present during the alleged and highly publicized family reunion of VP Robredo.

Sass Sasot asked the following statement on Facebook:

Just did some sleuthing. I want to know kung sino ang ka-family reunion ni Leni sa New York noong pasko? Her brother spent Christmas in Calgary, Canada.

Here's the Photo of VP Leni Robredo's brother celebrating Christmas in Canada:

MISS DIMALUNA 2016's ANSWER SLAMMED DE LIMA AND CHR on a SENSITIVE QUESTION ABOUT EJKs

A beauty queen from Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental has gone viral on the internet because of her brilliant answer when asked about her views on the alleged extrajudicial killings happened during the Duterte administration.

Devine Grace Capa – now Ms. Dimaluna Tourism 2016 is now being discussed by the Netizens worldwide because of her controversial answer during the Question and Answer portion of Ms. Dimaluna 2016.

When asked about her opinion on the issue of extrajudicial killing in the Philippines today, Capa quickly answered

“I believe that life is a gift. If killing is to save a million lives, then it is better to sacrifice one life than to lose everybody’s safety and endanger humanity forever.”

Her answer has gone viral on the internet and her picture together with her controversial answer has spread on the internet very quickly.

Some of them praised Ms. Capa, but not all of them agreed with the answer of the Miss Dimaluna 2016.

The viral photo of Miss Dimaluna 2016 on Facebook. Credit: Dimaluna Ozamiz City Facebook Fanpage

A Foreigner named Baz Conlin called Ms. Capa uninformed and lectured her about the issues about the Philippines.

But her new fans quickly defended her from the bashers including the admin of the Dimaluna Ozamiz City. They said that Miss. Dimaluna was entitled in her opinion and Baz Conlin doesn’t have the right to call her uninformed and calling her like that is a form of stereotyping.

One fan responded to Conlin, saying that the foreigner must research first and not base his information on what media has reported. They believe that drug lords and addicts are killing each other to escape the authorities.

A Mindanao based blogger NormanNorman said that the little known beauty pageant in Ozamiz City is suddenly getting a lot of attention because of the thought-proviking answer of Ms. Capa to a sensitive question that many candidates would have wanted to avoid replying to.

Alleged extrajudicial killings is one of the biggest issues faced by the current administration. The critics of the government believes that this kind of event exists today because of the War On Drugs declared by Duterte’s administration.

MUST READ! SENATOR LACSON BELIEVES THAT THE FILIPINOS HAD ALREADY ELECTED THE BEST PRESIDENT IN THE PH HISTORY BUT..

Senator Lacson believed that the Filipinos had already elected the man who may become the ‘best president in the Philippines in History’. But Senator believed that to attain that title, President Rodrigo Duterte must change the way he talks and became a real ‘statesman’.

Lacson also said that ‘ it’s time for the President to become multi-dimensional, not later, but starting New Year’s Day.’

“He could very well be the best president we’ve ever had if he learns to discard some old habits of a mayor and develop some good traits of a national leader. For a start, he can “Google” how to become a real statesman.” Lacson said in a statement posted in his Facebook Fanpage.

Lacson in his statement also lauded President Duterte’s action against war against illegal drugs and corruption.

“the anti-drug war is being addressed with more than enough vigor by our law enforcement agencies, particularly the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Philippine National Police, and the National Bureau of Investigation. He can still be the driving force behind the scene.” Lacson said.

He believed that the political will of the President may resolve the corruption problem in the Philippines that would give a better tomorrow in the Philippines.

“Corruption in government is one area where he can really make a difference, owing to his political will and resoluteness in getting things done. Once corruption is eradicated, many great things can happen to our country as a matter of course.” Lacson added.

The Senator also said that he wanted the President to succeed because most Filipinos like him loves their own country.

Lacson was also hopeful that he and the President would leave a proud Filipino Nation respected in all countries in the world.

In the end of his statement, Lacson said that  “Singapore’s sans dictatorial rule should serve as a good role model for him[Duterte] to follow”

During his one of his speeches, President Duterte responded to European Union who criticized him for being not a statesman.

”Tapos hindi daw ako statesman. Excuse me? Hindi daw ako statesman. Ang pagkaalam ko, tumakbo ako ng Presidente, wala mang posisyong statesman doon sa ’min, bakit mo ko pipilitin maging statesman?[then they say im not a statesman? as far as I know, I ran for president. we have no statesman position, so why force me of becomming a statesman?] President Duterte said.

AGUIRRE TO REPORTERS: WHAT TRUST DID THE PRESIDENT BETRAY?

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Sunday laughed off claims that President Rodrigo Duterte may be impeached for assuring policemen who killed detained Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa that they wouldn’t land behind bars.

Aguirre, who served as private prosecutor in the impeachment trial of the late Chief Justice Renato Corona in the Senate, said Mr. Duterte did not violate the Constitution when he defended Supt. Marvin Marcos and his men.

Marcos is the sacked chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Eastern Visayas who mapped out the predawn raid on Espinosa’s detention cell on Nov. 5, which led to the mayor’s death.

Contrary to the claim of Marcos and his men, Espinosa could not have engaged in a shootout with policemen from his cell at the Leyte subprovincial jail in Baybay City, as the mayor had no gun, according to the National Bureau of Investigation.

The police claimed they were searching for a gun in Espinosa’s cell based on a warrant.

“What is impeachable about it? What trust did the President betray?” Aguirre asked reporters in an interview. “Some are just making a big issue out of it.”

Last week, the President said he believed in the version of Marcos and his men regarding Espinosa’s death even after the NBI concluded that his killing was a “rubout.”

He issued the statement despite admitting that Marcos was “tainted” and that he himself had ordered the lifting of the administrative relief of the CIDG official because he had him under surveillance for his supposed links to the illegal drug trade.

Said Mr. Duterte: “I will not allow these guys to go to prison. I don’t care if the NBI says it’s murder. Anyway, the NBI and the Department of Justice are both under [my authority].”

The NBI is the justice department’s investigative arm.

Sen. Leila de Lima, the President’s arch-critic, said Mr. Duterte’s remark was akin to providing pardon to Espinosa’s killers even before they could be formally charged.

“He has exonerated them already. That’s not even his duty because the duty belongs to the judiciary, to the court. So that’s bordering on impeachability,” De Lima said.
