YEAR ENDER 'DRUG WAR KILLINGS' FEATURED IN INTERNATIONAL ARENA

Philippines is featured in the international stage after its intensified campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte against illegal drugs where thousands believed are involved in the illegal drugs were killed and nearly a million drug dependents surrendered.

Due to a series of killings, the anti-drug war of President Duterte gained negative reactions from various human rights advocates, United Nations (UN), European Union (EU) and the United States for they believe that extrajudicial killings (EJK) is already taking place.

Among to led the criticism and even performed a Senate inquiry was Sen. Leila de Lima.

Here began the intense conflict between President Duterte and De Lima. De lima was explicitly and publicly accused by the president of having lover/driver/bodyguard and alleged communion with the illegal drug trade in New Bilibid Prisons (NBP). Which is later admitted by De Lima, aside from alleged communion with the illegal drug trade in New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).

Aside from De Lima, former US President Barack Obama was repeatedly criticized and railed by President Duterte  for expressing its "concern" about the series of killings in the Philippines and interfering on the country's problem.

President Duterte nor missed the UN special rapporteur Agnes Callamard on her participation with intent to investigate into extrajudicial killings in the country where many times he called "idiot" and advised to return in studying law.

In September, President Duterte formally invited Callamard to go to the Philippines to investigate, but with conditions. She must agree to have a public debate and there will be a confrontation in front of the public, that the special rapporteur rejected because she said that it will violative their Code of Conduct and Terms of Reference to visit the country.

As his statement in his first State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Duterte assert the partiality of the police officers accused of involvement in illegal drugs.

President Duterte is convinced that the killings of drug personalities by the police were all "legitimate" operation and he believes that they resisted so that's why they got killed.

The President is even prepared to be jailed for the sake of the police or even grant them pardon from charges in the performance of their duties.

But the president insisted that most of the killings was done by their colleagues in the syndicate because they are "cleansing" or cleaning their ranks for the safety of their identities.

"I reiterate that commitment today, and that is why I call on the Philippine National Police, the barangay chairmen, the Mayors, the Governors and all those occupying seats of power and authority, not to lower their guard. There will be no let-up in this campaign. Double your efforts. Triple them, if need be. We will not stop until the last drug lord, the last financier, and the last pusher have surrendered or put behind bars or below the ground, if they so wish. To our police officers and other officials, do your job and you will have the unwavering support of the Office of the President. I will be with you all the way. Abuse your authority, and there will be a hell to pay, for you will have become worse than criminality itself," statement of President Duterte.

RIZAL DAY 2016

President Duterte’s message

PRESIDENT DUTERTE ENJOYS PLAYING WITH THE MEDIA AS THE MASTER OF THE GAME

Many of us already know how the new President of the Philippines talks, aside from his cursing mouth the president is always expressive in his statements that eventually some of it will be labeled as 'jokes only' by himself. His supporters and many Filipinos accepted how the President talks for they consider it as a wise style of him to play with the bias medias which is very effective. But some also criticize the president.. let's just say 'haters gonna hate'.

In an interview of Jessica Soho, GMA News' to President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday[Thursday], he said that it was the Filipino's problem if they didn't understand. His statement is seems like he is hinting about his style dealing with the media.

He said that he do not need to explain his controversial remarks that at times would later be clarified by his spokespersons and Cabinet officials.

"I think that's the problem also when you communicate, when you make 'yung mga off-the-cuff remarks like that," Soho said.

"It's not a problem actually. If you cannot understand me..." Duterte said.

"The entire Filipino nation, kayo ang may problema," he added.

"I need not explain to you kasi alam mo. Alam ng kayong mga GMA na matagal na diyan, I'm fond of doing it."

Last October, Duterte said he would stop cussing because God talked to him, telling him he would bring down the plane if he didn't.

Duterte said it was a joke.

"Sino ba namang magsalita nang gano'n? Ang joker diyan Diyos, hindi ako," Duterte said.

Soho asked about his story when he throw a kidnapper out of a helicopter.

Duterte denied and said it was the story of Tulfo.

"Kay Tulfo 'yon, sa column niya noon pa raw."

Soho also asked if Duterte killed a person who was not fighting back, Duterte said, "Ano ka ba, executioner? Hindi ka lalaki kapag ganu'n."

"Ganito 'yan, you can never get a validation from me whether it is true or whether it happened or didn't happen," Duterte said.

"Because you're a lawyer," Soho said.

"Not only that," Duterte replied.

"May tatlong suspect. Walang magsalita. 'Saan 'yung hostage n'yo?' Walang magsalita. Tapos nahuli sila... Sino sila? Walang magsalita," he added.

"Ganito 'yan sa sine lang 'yan. 'Ayaw mo magsalita?' Ihulog mo 'yan. Sa sine lang. Dalawa na lang. 'Ayaw n'yong
magsalita?'

Magsabi magsalita kami... Ihulog mo na lang," Duterte said.

"So hinulog n'yo?" Soho asked.

Duterte laughed, saying, "Sa sine lang 'yon"

-part of Jessica Soho interview

Well, what did you notice? what do you think on how the president answers Jessica Soho? does it seems like President Duterte is enjoying playing with the media?
