STATE OF CALAMITY DECLARED IN ALBAY



State of calamity has been declared in the province of Albay due to Typhoon Nina.

23 million peso calamity fund  has also been provided for the recovery of the country from the ravages of the storm.

According to Vice Governor Harold Imperial, the first district was struck hard including Tabaco City, the towns of Tiwi, Malinao, Malilipot and Bacacay also in the third district including Ligao City, Guinobatan and Polangui.

Seventy (70) percent of houses has been destroyed in Polangui and 300,000 families were evacuated.

Besides Albay, the province of Camarines Sur and Catanduanes are also placed under State of Calamity.
