P40-M WORTH OF SMUGGLED RICE SEIZED AT MANILA PORT BY BOC



At least P40 million worth of smuggled rice from Vietnam was seized by the Bureau of Customs (BoC) at the Manila International Container Port.

According to the BoC, the contents of the container vans were misdeclared as glutinous supplies but discovered it contained rice.

The said shipment arrived in the country on November 7 and 13 this year.

Authorities is in continuing investigation of the seized rice.
