DOJ TO FINALLY DECIDE ON 4 DRUG CASES OF LEILA DE LIMA

Department of Justice(DOJ) will now finally decide on the 4 drug cases to be filed against Senator Leila De Lima.

Referred by Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre are the cases related to the connection of De Lima in the illegal drug trade in New Bilibid Prison (NBP) filed by the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC), two former NBI Director, Jaybee Sebastian and the NBI itself.

According to Aguirre, if should come out with probable cause to indict De Lima they will immediately file the case to the Office of the Ombudsman for an appropriate review. It will be on Ombudsman decision to charge De Lima at the Sandiganbayan if they can find enough basis.

Meanwhile, the DOJ panel will immediately proceed the case against De Lima and Kerwin Espinosa.

However, it is possible that De Lima will be left alone in the case for they will possibly make Kerwin Espinosa as a state witness.
