Malacañang declared December 26, 2016 and January 2, 2017 as special non-working holiday.
Stated in the declaration issued by the Palace's acting Executive Secretary Menardo Guevara it is to give Filipinos a longer vacation holidays to spend with their families.
Observed, December 25 and January 1 will both fall in Sundays.
