The 2 newly appointed deputy commisioners of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) defended themselves as victims of a frame-up.
The two were caught on CCTV camera receiving P50 million bribe from alleged bagman of online gambling tycoon Jack Lam.
According to Justice Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre II, he met Al Argosino and Mike Robles when they went to his office to file their 30-day leave of absence.
Meanwhile Aguirre assured that it would be a fair investigation of NBI regarding the reported bribe in immigration involving his fraternity brothers.
Argosino and Robles are Aguirre's brothers in Lex Talionis Fraternitas San Beda College of Law, who had earlier admitted receiving P30 million from the camp of businessman Jack Lam.
But, the aforementioned officials said that they would use the money as an evidence against Lam's camp.
Meanwhile, Aguirre appealed to the public not to judge him because he will assure that he would be fair in investigation even the involved officials are his fraternity brothers.
In fact, according to the secretary, he already recommended to the President to fire the said officials.
