To be signed today by President Rodrigo Duterte the P3.35 trillion national budget or the General Appropriations Act 10924.
This is the first budget to be signed by President Duterte as the chief executive of the country.
Set at 1pm the ceremonial signing of the law on the national budget.
Aside from the regular expences funded by national budget, among the 'highlight' for 2017 are the additional P1,000 cash allowance to teachers (P770 million); additional funds for scholarships for students of state universities and colleges (P1.2 billion); free tuition for medical students (P317 million); supplemental feeding P1 billion for the Social Welfare Department; centenarian fund (P100 million); irrigation fees subsidy (P2 billion); Fund to fund promotion and Modification (P1 billion); PhilHealth additional subsidy of P3 billion; additional funds for Doctors to the Barrios and construction of health facilities (P1.5 billion); and an additional P2.8 billion for the Department of National Defense.
